About Ivybank House Care Home
Our residents’ wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do, and their emotional and physical health is our top priority.
We build strong and positive relationships with the people in our care, ensuring that we get to know their personal preferences and what interests them to make every day as good as it can possibly be for them.
We ensure our residents have a say in their daily lives, from suggesting activities to requesting their favourite foods – we know that one size doesn’t fit all.
In the warmer months residents can spend their time enjoying our beautiful, landscaped gardens. We have several patios, a decked area, an allotment, a pond and a summer house where residents can spend time with their friends or take a quiet moment to be by themselves. Within the home we also have a number of communal areas including two lounges, a dining room and a large conservatory. We also have our own hair dressing salon to ensure residents can keep up appearances, plus a regular visiting chiropodist and beautician.
We are proud of our home and delighted that Ivybank House has been rated ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) across all five of its assessment criteria; safe, effective, caring, responsive, and well-led.

Activities
At Ivybank House there is something for everyone to enjoy. We have a dedicated activities co-ordinator who delivers a varied and interesting timetable of activities. From yoga and art and crafts through to the singers and entertainers who visit us, we ensure that everyone has something to look forward to.
We work with our residents to provide the activities they most want to take part in, and our team is always keen to try something new. When the sun is out, we encourage our residents to enjoy our glorious gardens and to take in the wonderful views over Bath and the surrounding countryside. We also travel further afield, taking trips in our minibus to the local shops and garden centre.

Food
We know that meals time are a highlight of the day for many of our residents and we believe that healthy, nutritious food is essential to feeling good mentally and physically.
Our freshly prepared meals offer variety, with menus changing weekly. From smoked kipper fishcakes and chicken and leek pie to traditional roast beef with Yorkshire puddings, residents can enjoy restaurant-quality meals every day.
Our puddings are always popular including delightful options such as strawberry and elderflower trifle and rum and raisin ice cream.
We can cater for a wide range of dietary requirements and special requests are seen as a welcome challenge. Friends and family are warmly invited to join residents for meals, snacks and drinks can be ordered at any time of the day.
Where residents enjoy their meals is up to them. Some choose to eat in their room, but there is also a large dining room with a multiple aspect orangery sun room looking onto the garden, which is ideal for those wanting some company. Hostesses are available to serve food and drinks, such as tea and cakes in the garden or conservatory.

There is a lounge and large dining room on the ground floor, which is a central hub for our residents to gather and meet. It has a patio area which is hugely popular with both residents and visitors in the summer months, complimented with lovely garden furniture and raised flower beds.
We have a hairdressing salon on the first floor, alongside an additional lounge and dining room. The home has been tastefully decorated with a comfortable and homely feel.
